Kamen Rider Ghost’s Hayato Isomura Announced For After The Rain Live-Action Adaptation

TOHO has announced the cast of the live-action adaptation of the manga Koi wa Ameagari no You ni (Love is Like After the Rain), which includes Hayato Isomura, Alain from Kamen Rider Ghost.


Opening in theaters in Japan May 25th, the live action film is directed by Akira Nagai and scripted by Riko Sakaguchi. The manga centers around Akira Tachibana, a 17-year-old high school student who is barely able to express herself. She has a secret crush on Masami Kondo, a 45-year-old manager of the restaurant where she has a part-time job.

Nana Komatsu plays the lead role of Akira Tachibana, with Yo Oizumi portraying manager Masami Kondo. Hayato Isomura plays Ryōsuke Kase, Akira’s co-worker. Honoka Matsumoto and Mari Hamada also play co-workers, while Yō Yoshida portrays her mother. Make Yamamoto, Shōno Hayama, and Nana Seino are all classmates of Akira’s. Lastly, Shigeyuki Totsugi is a novelist and old friend of Masami’s.

The manga, by Jun Mayuzuki, was originally published in Shogakukan‘s Monthly Big Comic Spirits, beginning in 2014, before shifting to Weekly Big Comic Spirits two years later. It is serialized every other week.

In addition to the upcoming live-action adaptation, the manga has also received an anime adaptation from Wit Studio, which began airing January 11th. It airs on Fuji TV and other channels as well as streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
