The Stan Winston School Offering Kaiju Creation How To Series

WinstonThe Stan Winston School of Character Arts is offering a five-part series detailing how to create a kaiju suit.


Stain Winston was a legendary special effects artists best known for his work on The Terminator series, Aliens, Jurassic Park among others. After his death in 2008, his family set up the Stan Winston School of Character Arts in order to help others get into the craft he loved so much.

The school is offering a five-part series called “How to Fabricate a Monster”. This series stars special effects artists Bill Byran (Ghostbusters, Men in Black) and Ted Haines (Cowboys and Aliens) as they detail each and every single step required to create a full kaiju suit.

The parts available currently are part 1: Design, Pattern & Prototype, and part 2: Detailing, Texturing & Mechanisms.

Each part is between five and six hours long and costs 59.99 to stream, or 64.99 to purchase a DVD.
