Where Are They Now? : Kamen Rider Kiva 2008 Side

The second entry of the “Where Are They Now?” series covers Kamen Rider Kiva. Due to the show’s significant cast, this entry will be divided into two articles: characters in the 2008 timeline and characters from the 1986 timeline. Kojiseto

After the horror themed Kamen Rider ended, Koji Seto the man who played the titular timid Wataru Kurenai/Kamen Rider Kiva, went on to work in several films. Notably, he starred in several horror films including Ju-On: Black Ghost, part of the long-running Ju-on series. He also had a role in Sadako 3D, where he played Takanori Ando. Sadako 3D revolves around a high school teacher named Akane Aikawa. After one of her students commits suicide, she hears a rumor about a video that will kill you after watching it. It is up to Akane to stop the menace that is Sadako

Seto had a starring role in the film I Don’t Have Many Friends where he played Kodaka Hasegawa, a half British half Japanese boy who can’t make many friends because of his appearance. He forms a Neighbor’s Club in order to make friends.

Seto continues to work under the Watanabe Label. His idol group D-DATE broke up in 2012. In 2014, he took part ia a D-BOYS anniversary project.


Keisuke_Kato-p1

Keisuke Kato went on to star in bits parts in various episodes of several J-Drama. He played Tsukasa Kitazawa in Hanako and Anne, a show about a translator in Meiji era Japan. He also appeared in episodes five and six of A Restaurant with Many Problems He also played Shima Sakon in Sengoku BASARA 4 Stage Play.


Nana_Yanagisawa

Nana Yanagisawa who played the Fangire hunter Megumi, has left the screen for the stage. Recently playing Mari in Cornelia, which is a small story that is a part of a greater story called DisGOONiE, which is about the War of the Roses.

 

She is currently working toward becoming an anime voice actress. Her official Instagram recently posted a photo of Yanagisawa training in a voice studio.


Shouma_Yamamoto-p1

Shouma Yamamoto, who played Taiga, Wataru’s half brother and fellow heir to the Fangire throne, mostly stayed within tokusatsu since Kiva ended. His notable role includes Dan the White Knight in the GARO series, a character he would later reprise in Garo: Makai Senkei and Garo: Makai Retsudan. He also played Gan’s human form in Shougeki Gouraigan, another tokusatsu series created by Keita Amemiya.

Yamamoto has also been voice acting post-Kiva. He was the dub voice for Kamen Rider Thrust/ Brad Barrett when Toei aired American Kamen Rider Ryuki adaptation, Kamen Rider Dragon Knight, to Japan. He also voiced Blue in Happiness Charge PreCure! the Movie: The Ballerina of the Land of Dolls.


The voice actor for Kivat III, Tomokazu Sugita had a very prolific career post Kiva. Some of his most notable anime roles have been Joseph Joestar from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 2 Battle Tendency Gintoki Sakata from Gintama, and Akumatsu from Mr. Osomatsu.

He also had several notable video game roles that include, Yusuke Kitagawa from Persona 5, Kazuhira “Kaz” Miller from Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and Chrom from Fire Emblem Awakening.
