River’s Edge Live Action Film to Star Fourze’s Ryo Yoshizawa
The upcoming film based on the River’s Edge manga will star Kamen Rider Fourze‘s Ryō Yoshizawa.
Ryō Yoshizawa, known for his role as Ryusei Sakuta/Kamen Rider Meteor in Kamen Rider Fourze, will play Ichirō Yamada in the live-action film adaption of the River’s Edge manga. Alongside Yoshizawa, Fumi Nikaidō has been cast as the main character, Haruna Wakagusa.
River’s Edge, created by Kyoko Okazaki, focuses on Haruna Wakagusa, a high school girl living a town during the 1990s and Ichirō Yamada, a bullied gay teen. They meet and get know each other after Haruna helps Ichirō while being bullied by her ex-boyfriend. While together, they find a dead body by the river bank and it becomes their shared secret.
The film will open in Japan in 2018 with further details awaiting to be announced.
