Nozomi Entertainment Announces Blu-ray/DVD Releases for 3 Gundam Works

Anime publisher, Nozomi Entertainment, recently announced the release dates for three Mobile Suit Gundam titles coming to Blu-ray/DVD this year.

Nozomi Entertainment, the publishing division of Right Stuf Inc., recently announced their upcoming releases of three Mobile Suit Gundam entries, MS IGLOO, Wing, and Thunderbolt: December Sky for 2017.  Based in Iowa, Nozomi Entertainment is one of the anime industry’s oldest publishers founded in 1987 as “The Right Stuf International” but in 2007 their publishing division was rebranded as “Nozomi Entertainment.”

From anime classics to modern favorites, Nozomi Entertainment is always focused on bringing American fans the titles that they want.

Igloo
Mobile Suit Gundam: MS IGLOO is a CGI anime series taking place during events of the Universal Century’s One Year War, released from 2004-2009.  The series was released as an OVA (original video animation) and divided into three segments, each with three episodes:  The Hidden One Year War, Apocayplse 0079, and Gravity Front. MS IGLOO  was directed by Takashi Imanishi, and written by Asahide Okuma and Hiroshi Onogi.

Wing
Mobile Suit Gundam Wing was released in 1995 as the sixth TV installment in the Gundam franchise, following the 1994 Mobile Fighter G Gundam series. The Wing series is noted for popularizing Gundam to western audiences, becoming Cartoon Network’s highest rated show on their Toonami block, surpassing series such as Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon.

The series takes place in the year After Colony 195, following five Gundam pilots  Heero Yuy, Duo Maxwell, Trowa Barton, Quatre Winner and Chang Wufei and their mission to stop the villainous military organization OZ (Organization of the Zodiac), as they spread their influence throughout Earth and the space colonies.

Thunder
Originally released as  a manga in March 2012 by Yasuo Ohtagaki, Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt takes place during the Universal Century’s One Year War in the debris ridden “Thunderbolt Sector” known for its recurrent electrical discharge.

The story follows the fierce battles between the Earth Federation’s Moore Brotherhood and Principality of Zeon’s Living Dead Division, focusing on their rival ace pilots Io Flemming and Daryl Lorenz respectively. The series received an anime adaption in the form of a four episode ONA (original net animation) that released from December 2015 to April 2016, then was compiled into a director’s cut titled Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt: December Sky that released in June 2016 to Japanese theaters.
