Bandai’s Power Ranger SDCC 2016 Items Announced

Bandai has recently announced their line up of SDCC 2016 exclusives, featuring three new Mighty Morphin Power Rangers toys.

As with previous San Diego Comic Cons, Bandai’s Power Ranger exclusives are limited ticket items, meaning fans will have to line up before opening to secure a ticket to purchase the toy at a later time. Quantities will be limited each day throughout the course of the convention.

Bandai releasing a repainted Legacy item is nothing new, and this time around Bandai is releasing the Legacy Blade Blaster in a special “Limited Black Edition”. As the name suggests, this release of the Blade Blaster is cast in black and gold plastic and diecast metal, much like last year’s release of Saba. While the toy contains no new sounds or features, fans of the black and gold color scheme might want to keep an eye out for this one. The Limited Black Edition Legacy Blade Blaster is limited to 800 pieces and will sell for $150.

Tokyo Vinyl toys have also been a staple of Comic Cons, and this year’s SDCC is no exception with Bandai yet again selling the Mighty Morphin Red Ranger Tokyo Vinyl figure. This time however, the Red Ranger is painted to resemble the suit used in the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers The Movie. Fans of the Tokyo Vinyl series will want to hunt this one down. The Limited Edition Tokyo Vinyl Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie Red Ranger is limited to 500 pieces and will sell for $25.

The big ticket item this year is the Limited Edition Legacy Collection Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Red Ranger. This should be the first time that fans can get a hold of the all new Legacy Collection figures before they hit store shelves in the coming weeks.

To differentiate from the retail release, this Red Ranger is cast in translucent plastics. Also included are two exclusive chrome swords. The Power Sword included with the figure is painted in chrome paint, as is the included Power Sword for the build-a-figure Megazord toy once all Mighty Morphin Power Rangers are collected. The Limited Edition Legacy Collection Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Red Ranger is limited to 1000 pieces and will retail for $40.

Bandai will also be giving away an exclusive black and gold T-Rex Super Charge Dino Charger to all con-goers that show up at the Bandai booth in Ranger cosplay! With SDCC right around the corner, fans will have to get their plans together to hit the Bandai booth and get what they need, or wait for those inflated eBay prices. Good luck in the hunt!
