Super Sentai Artisan Chogokin Otomonin Shinobimaru Announced
The Premium Bandai Super Sentai Artisan line continues with Shuriken Sentai Ninninger with the release of a Chogokin version of Otomonin Shinobimaru.
The Super Sentai Artisan line started with the Rainbow Line set released in 2014 during Ressha Sentai ToQger. Fans were left wondering if the line would continue into Ninninger or branch off into past shows. Premium Bandai has revealed their choice with the announcement of their next Super Sentai Artisan release, Chogokin Otomonin Shinobimaru.
Shinobimaru is Akaninger’s Otomonin partner in the series. In Shurikenjin’s default combination, it sits inside Dumpmaru and “operates” the robo. It also forms an arm when not operating the robo, for Shurikenjin’s other formations. This toy is a Chogokin release, meaning there will be some amount of die-cast found on the toy.
The original release in the DX Shurikenjin is rather blocky, and has little to no articulation. Premium Bandai plans to give fans of the design what they wanted in the form of an articulated Shinobimaru, sporting 22 points of articulation. The toy also features metallic paint on the chest and knees. Standing roughly the same height as the original DX toy, this Shinobimaru has fold out clips in his backpack that can plug into the seat of Dumpmaru. This means the toy is 100% compatible with the DX Shurikenjin toy. Unfortunately, the toy does not have the parts or capability to transform into an arm like the DX one can.
As an added bonus, a small piece of Shinobimaru’s upper chest can slide out and be replaced with a piece that features a small Akaninger molded in, to mimic the way the Ninningers pilot their individual Otomonin.
Before fees, Shinobimaru will cost ¥5,378. Pre-orders begin February 27, 2015 and will close on May 8, 2015. The item will be shipped out via Premium Bandai sometime in July 2015.
