Godzilla Down to 7th, Gaim/Sentai Movies to 9th At Cinemas

Last week, we reported that the new Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno movie knocked Godzilla off the top place in the Japanese cinema rankings. Now, it has dropped down to seventh.

The ranking for the dates of August 9th & 10th are as follows:

1. Stand By Me Doraemon (new entry)
2. Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Inferno (first last week)
3. Transformers/ Lost Age (new entry)
4. Maleficent (fallen from third)
5. Omoidasu No Mani (same place)
6. Pocket Monsters: Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction (fallen from fourth)
7. Godzilla (fallen from second)
8. Space Brothers #0 (new entry)
9. Movie Version – Kamen Rider Gaim/Ressha Sentai ToQger THE MOVIE (fallen from sixth)

The new Godzilla held first place in the rankings for one week, before going down to second after the opening of heavily publicized Rurouni Kenshin sequel, the film now sits at 7th. The double feature Kamen Rider Gaim/Ressha Sentai ToQger has stayed in sixth place for the past two weekends, before dropping down to ninth after the opening of the new Transformers, Doraemon & Space Brothers #0 movies.
