Mitsuzane has finally revealed his animosity towards Kōta. After transforming into Zangetsu Shin, he attacks his former friend but is suddenly stopped by his older brother, Takatora. Mitsuzane cannot hide his surprise at Takatora being alive. Kōta then realizes they are brothers.

Mitsuzane was the younger brother of an Yggdrassil executive. The Beat Riders get angered at the news from Kōta but Mai and him insist on defending Mitsuzane. “The Overlords could be using him…” says Kōta. He says he’ll try and talk to him one more time.

Gaim ep36b

Takatora is informed of the situation by Yoko. Regardless of being family, he has become the enemy if he is cooperating with the Overlords. Then he hears Kōta‘s feelings and Takatora starts feeling responsible. A decision is about to be made in his heart.
