Power Rangers Feature Film Announced

Saban Brands and Lionsgate are teaming up for a new live-action Power Rangers film.

Today, Saban Brands announced the production of a new Power Rangers film, the third in the franchise’s history. They have partnered with Lionsgate, the entertainment company behind the popular Divergent and The Hunger Games films.

As stated in the press release, the film franchise will “re-envision the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, a group of high school kids who are infused with unique and cool super powers but must harness and use those powers as a team if they have any hope of saving the world.”

After publicity events like appearances at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, it looks like Saban Brands’ push to bring Power Rangers back into the forefront of pop culture, like it was in its heyday, is on the fast track.
