Godzilla dvd blu-ray

To commemorate the 60th anniversary of the original Godzilla film, Toho will release every movie in the franchise in Japan, including one unexpected inclusion.

Toho will have all 28 Godzilla films in the franchise, from Godzilla (1954) to Godzilla: Final Wars (2004) on both DVD and Blu-ray this summer. This will also include the release of the 1998 American adaptation of the iconic character, which did not receive the greatest of receptions from fans on both sides of the Pacific Ocean. As of now, the Toho Amusement Park site shows every film being sold separately, with each film containing a Japanese audio track and Japanese subtitles, with the exception of the American adaptation, which will have both English and Japanese audio tracks and subtitles.

All of the DVD versions of the movies will be released on May 14, 2014, just two days before the release of the Legendary Pictures Godzilla film. They will be priced at 2,700 yen each. The Blu-ray versions, on the other hand, will be released in two batches.

The first batch of 13 films released on June 18th will contain Godzilla, Godzilla VS Mothra, Ghidorah, The Three-Headed Monster, Godzilla 1984, Godzilla VS Biollante, Godzilla VS King-Ghidorah, Godzilla VS Mothra (aka Godzilla and Mothra: The Battle for Earth), Godzilla VS Mechagodzilla II, Godzilla VS Spacegodzilla, Godzilla VS Destroyah, Godzilla VS Megaguirus, Godzilla, Mothra, King-Ghidorah: All-Monsters All Out Attack,  and Godzilla: Final Wars.

The second batch of 16 that will be available starting on July 16th will include Godzilla Raids Again, King Kong VS Godzilla, Invasion of Astro-Monster (aka Monster Zero), Godzilla VS the Sea Monster, Son of Godzilla, Destroy All Monsters, All Monsters Attack (aka Godzilla’s Revenge), Godzilla VS Hedorah, Godzilla VS Gigan, Godzilla VS Megalon, Godzilla VS Mechagodzilla, Terror of Mechagodzilla, Godzilla 2000, Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla, Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. and Godzilla (1998 – U.S.).

All Blu-rays will be priced at 4,700 yen each (5,076 yen after tax).
